Serial Xtractor™
The app
Point the camera at the device. The serial is read, checked and written to the ledger before you have put the drive down.

What it does
The same workflow as every other deployment, on hardware you already own.
- Reads the serial from the label — barcode or printed text.
- Checks it against your target list for the job.
- Writes it to an append-only ledger as the scan happens.
- Feeds the certificate and manifest at the end of the run.
Built for the floor, not the desk
Warehouses have poor light, damaged labels and patchy signal. The app is built for that, and a scan does not wait for a connection.
- Scans with no connection. A dead spot does not stop the job.
- Handles worn, scratched and partly obscured labels.
- Nothing to type. The operator confirms rather than transcribes.
A free app, in front of a paid service
The app itself costs nothing. You create an account on the web, choose a plan, then sign in on the app.
That is the same shape as Slack, Notion or Dropbox — a free client, with the service you pay for behind it. Nothing is bought inside the app.
This applies to the app only. The tablet, the fixed mount, the on-shredder unit and the on-belt head are supplied by us and priced per site, with no account and no subscription.
Where the data goes
The app is a connected product, and that is worth knowing before you choose it. Scanning works offline, but there is a cloud service behind the app, and exporting a manifest needs a connection to reach it.
- Sessions, captured images, serials and ledger entries are held in that service.
- We use them to run it, to detect fraud and misuse, and to keep the app working.
- Usage information goes to a third-party analytics service. It is not tied to a person.
- This cannot be switched off in the app today.
If a client's policy will not allow their asset images leaving your site, that is what the secure tablet, the fixed mount and the on-shredder unit are for. They have no connectivity at all.
In beta
The app is in beta with live customers and is being developed against real intake volume rather than a lab.
Scanning against a target list — which your client almost always provides — accuracy is 100%. Without one, it identifies the serial unaided on 79.6% of devices, and the rest wait for your operator rather than being guessed at. Both are under a second.
We publish the unaided figure because it is the honest one to judge us on, and because it will move as the model develops. A vendor quoting a single number is either measuring something easier or not measuring.
